More Useless Trait Ladder Variations for Fudge

In 2006, I posted The Very Idea: Variations of the Trait Ladder in the Omnium-Gatherum section of Fudgery.net. In 2007, I wrote a sequel to that article and didn’t bother to post it. I felt it was lacking something and eventually forgot about it. Now, at the end of 2011, I have dusted it off, [...]

The Better to Link You With, My Dear

The Links page at Fudgery.net proper has been ever-so-slightly altered to improve readability. Honestly, I ought to have done it years ago.

Lost Minis Wiki

The Lost Minis Wiki is an “open resource for identifying and cataloguing fantasy miniatures.” This is an excellent resource for collectors and admirers of miniature sculpture, but it could also be used as a practical resource for fantasy role-playing. Consider, if you will, a situation in which a GM is attempting to describe a monster [...]

Free Ticket to Talislanta

One of the games I have always found visually intriguing is Talislanta, the unconventional fantasy role-playing game written by Stephan Michael Sechi and illustrated by P.D. Breeding-Black (and others after the first edition). It is a game steeped in the alien and the exotic, and as such it has a richly detailed background, lending itself [...]

Skills Revised

Optimum Skills for Fudge has been revised to reflect an emphasis on simplicity with regard to default skill levels. The default level and skill difficulty have been deleted from the individual entries and replaced with the following note at the end of the page: In this revised list of skills, all skills have a default [...]

Autoduelling and Site-Updating

In a comment on my article Road-Warring, Michael P. Owen, the Webmaster of the Seattle Washington Autoduel Team Headquarters (or SWAT HQ) was kind enough to share this link of gaming resources: Automotive Combat Tabletop Game Systems. There is much to explore on that page, and I am grateful for the work it must have [...]

A Scattering of Thoughts

Lest anyone think I have abandoned my favorite hobby, I still have several Fudge projects in various stages of completion. Currently, I am attempting to finish One Robot…One Computer…One Spaceship. It is a work of pure folly, but sometimes one needs a bit of benign folly in one’s life. My conundrum of the moment is [...]

Update to Trait Conversions

Specifically, the “All System” Catalyst series by Flying Buffalo Inc. has been added to Optimum Trait Conversions for Fudge. More generally, I have deleted the bracketed number ranges that formerly indicated whether a higher or lower trait level should be chosen when one is confronted with translating a game that has fewer than seven trait [...]

Basic Attributes Revised

Optimum Attributes for Fudge, a brief article suggesting a possible set of default attributes that may be used whenever needed, has been significantly revised (and, I hope, improved). This will be the standard set of attributes for many of my current Fudge projects. It should be reassuringly familiar to most experienced role-players and immediately understandable [...]

Quandary

As some of my readers may know, I have two Web logs that are devoted to fulfilling two tasks each, which are a.) providing links to my main Web logs (Fudgerylog and Cuparia) when they are updated, and b.) enabling me to comment on Blogger and LiveJournal sites maintained by others. My LiveJournal site is [...]

One Comment Away from 10,000

Deleted, that is. I have just deleted Fudgerylog’s 9,999th spam comment. The mind boggles at how much higher this number would be if I did not have certain words blacklisted (meaning I never even see comments containing these words as they are automatically deleted).

Alternate Section Rules Revised

My Alternate Section 1.31, Attributes for Fudge in Fudgery.net has been revised upon a reconsideration of the figures. These are my rules for lifting capacity, encumbrance limits, running speed, and sprinting speed. My objective is a balance of simplicity and realism.
