• BB: Battleship (planned)
• C: Cruiser (retired; formerly assigned to Light Cruisers)
• CA: Heavy Cruiser
• CC: Battlecruiser (retired; never used operationally)
• CL: Light Cruiser
• DD: Destroyer
• FF: Frigate (retired)
• K: Corvette

• M: Monitor
• PB: Patrol Boat
